Harry, Suzy, just want you to know that the hours of 330-500 am are reserved for sleeping. While we love you very much, we prefer that you sleep during these hours.

How are we doing this?

So how are we going to do this? The way I see it, there's some different types out there: 1. I just want to be with these people while they do this thing. That's cool. We're glad you're here. 2. I want to do some of this, but not all of it. Also great. Just do what you want, but tell us about it, ok? 3. I just want to do what you tell me to do. I get you. It's HARD to be in charge all the damned time . 4. You're not the boss of me but sure, I'll do this thing with you but Imma do it my own way. Yeah, me too. Excepting I started this so it is my own way. (But there's that bit about needing a pal, so thanks, Patty.) 5. I don't want another book. I'll never make all that stuff anyway. Dude, I know. It's another THING in your house. So just go check out the website and make those recipes, but tell us about it, ok? 6. How about I just watch the show? Good idea. It's on Netflix . I should probably watch it again. Phew. Hopefully you're one

A big brother

She's here! We're still working on a middle name, but Suzette joined us at 855 this morning weighing in at 5 lbs 10 oz, 18.5 inches long. She's over in the NICU , but breathing well on her own. Hopefully she'll do just as well eating and we'll be on our way back to Pine Street. I'm doing well, as is Pete - we even got some sleep last night and let me tell you, the epidural is the way to go, thanks Jim! Pictures coming as soon as we find the camera cable.

What we're doing now

It's been a minute, right? We didn't say that when I wrote that last post, but now we do, and language is catchy (like other things) so, it's been a minute. Meanwhile. We're going to do something over here. It's a bit different than the last thing we did, but I'm glad we did that together. (In case you forgot: have a baby and get through some grief after losing my mother.) This time we're going to Accomplish Something In The Kitchen. I'm cooking for than ever - mostly lunch as I come home to check in on the Larson Babies. It's (usually) wholesome, nutritious, and a bit rushed (like this photo), but remarkable in its small way. I like coming home at lunch time - it's a good pause to collect oneself in the middle of a day full of meetings . We're finding our way through a world that's fundamentally different. And that's fine (except where it's not and I hope you're finding help where you need it) but I'm aching for directio
